BUFFETS
Is the food prepared by
eatz Catering Halal?
Yes, we have been Halal-certified by MUIS (a government
agency overlooking Muslim affairs) since our inception.
Upon request we can display our halal certificate
at the buffet so that your Muslim guests can rest
assured of our certification.
What equipment do you provide
for the buffets?
Tables for the buffets, skirting, tablecloths
and the food warmers will be provided. Candle
wax (to keep the food warm) generally last about
3 hours in indoor conditions (approx 2 hours in
windy outdoor conditions).
How much food does eatz
Catering provide?
We will provide a 10% buffer for the number of
guest you ordered. However, certain popular items
on the menu will run out faster than other items.
| Tip:
As a host, its always better have
enough food than to run out if more guests
turn up to share in your celebrations. If
there is too much leftovers, you can always
“ta-pow” |
Can I rent additional equipment?
Unfortunately no, because of our MUIS certification,
we are very careful and wary about our customer’s
usage of our equipment concerning non-Halal food.

MINI BUFFETS
How are your Mini Buffets
served?
For mini Buffets the food will be presented in
reusable microwavable white containers.
(we do not provide disposable tongs, buffet tables,
warmers and extras for a typical buffet.) Delivery
is one-way, there is no need to collect any equipment
The main reason for the mini Buffets is for small,
simple gatherings of friends or colleagues where
the food is the missing link in the equation.
| Tip:
If you need to heat up the food in the microwavable
containers, please do not forget to leave
it open before you pop it into the microwave
– you don’t want it exploding and making
a mess in your oven! |
How early do I need to order
the Mini buffet?
You should order 1 day before your event’s date
– this is of course subject to availability –
you can always call our friendly consultants for
advice.
Why don’t you continue to
use the aluminum trays?
Good question! Feedback from our clients is that
in order for them to reheat the food, they had
to transfer it to another microwaveable container
– adding more work – besides, the aluminum trays
were too soft – slipping off fingers - leading
to one too many spillage of foods.
I’m expecting 16 guests,
but your set serves only 12 guests, what do I
do?
You can add the extra number of guests from the
13th guests onwards (e.g. 4 additional guests
for Indonesian set @ $12 per guest = $120 (1st
12 guests) + $48 (4 additional guests) + Transport
Charge)

ORDERING
How early do I need to order
the buffet?
Typically, you should order 2-3 days before your
event’s date – this is of course subject to availability
– you can always call our friendly consultants
for advice.
| Note:
2-3days is just a rough guide, sometimes
on certain days we would have been booked
up weeks before and on the extreme end of
the spectrum we may still be able to do
your buffet with less than 24 hours notice
- if you’re comfortable with us coming earlier
or later than your preferred time and if
you don’t mind tagging on to another customer’s
menu (for extreme urgent cases). |
How do I make an order?
You can place your order online, fax to us - if
you have a faxed quotation (circle or underline
your selected menu items) or just simply call
us (if we’re not too busy). Please have your selections
ready, details of the venue and contact numbers
ready before you call us.
What can I do if my guests
do not take Beef?
For menus that do not offer other choices other
than beef, you can select a chicken or a fish
dish of the same or lesser value. Please note
your selection in the “special request column”
when ordering.
How can I cater to my vegetarian
guests?
2-ways – you can firstly order a separate bento
set meal for them individually or you can convert
two or more dishes of the main menu to vegetarian.
| Tip:
Find out how strict their vegetarian needs
are – some cannot touch garlic, onions &
leek but some can consume eggs. |
Can you advise me on how
many to order for?
Generally, as Asians, we want to make sure that
everyone has his fill, so it’s always advisable
to order according to your confirmed guest list.
The extra 10% buffer that we provide should not
be used to minimize on your order – if you get
the drift.
Note: Most children above the age of 10 should
be considered an adult.
| Tip:
If you’re not sure how many guests to cater
to, we advise that you make an order with
the minimum number of guests required for
the menu you are interested in. Closer to
your event date, as you have more confirmed
RSVPs from your guests list, call us no
later than 36 hours before your event to
increase the guest list. |
I’ve already ordered, but
I’ve not received any calls or confirmation.
Our office generally does not work over the weekends
(as we are normally busy). As such if you submitted
an order past 3pm on Fridays, we may only reply
to you on Monday.
Sometimes, in the world of emails, some emails
get lost or we didn’t catch a returned email message
so it’s always best to call us to confirm if we’ve
received it.
Can I order less than the
minimum number of guests on the menu?
We're sorry, but we are strict with our minimum
quantity for each individual menus.
Can I order other extra
items over and above my buffet?
Yes, please browse through our Extra-Extra menu
selection. Because you will be tagging on the
delivery with your buffet, we will waive the transport
charge.
Can I change the items on
the menu?
Yes, but you can, but it will be subject to availability
and you can change up to two items on the menu
from another menu of lesser value and of the same
type of meat (e.g. chicken dish with another chicken
dish). For such requests, please insert these
changes in the remarks column of the order form.

Do you rent tables and chairs?
Yes we do. Please click
here to find out more.
| Tip:
Do not rent more than 40% of the number
of chairs/stools. Not all your guests will
arrive at the same time, even if they do,
not all are going to sit down at the same
time. Besides, given the sizes of our homes
and its ancillary spaces, we just don’t
have the space. Also, consider getting stools
if you think the chairs – though comfortable
- will clutter up your house – making it
“unworkable”. |
I need to cancel,
how?
If you just need to reschedule or postpone your
event – no charge. If you really need to cancel,
and for reasons obvious, we will have to charge
you a cancellation fee.
For written cancellations 48 hours before the
actual event, a 25% charge off the total bill
will be levied. And an 50% charge for cancellations
less than 24hours.

DELIVERY
How long does it take to
setup a typical buffet?
For up to 100 guests, it should not take longer
than 30 minutes (less the “transit” time required
to bring the equipment and food to the location
of the buffet).
The “transit” time is the time required
to move the equipment from our delivery truck
to your function room. This usually is just about
10 minutes if there are no hindrances like the
lack of proper pathways or lifts. And can go up
to over 45 minutes if the event is on the 4th
floor of the building sans a lift.
Tip: We always welcome
our clients to preempt us if you think
the transit time can be more than 15 mins
due to the lack of facilities at the venue
– this is so that the buffet can be readied
in time for your guests – minus the stress
of us being late because of the venue.
Note: For reasons obvious,
we will charge an additional $20 for deliveries
that have more than 2 flights of stairs.

PAYMENT TERMS
What are your terms
of payment?
Home deliveries – strictly cash/cheque on delivery.
Office deliveries – COD for 1st time clients,
14-days credit thereafter
All cheques must be crossed and
made in favour of “eatz Catering Services”
Do you offer any discounts?
Sorry, we do not offer discounts. Unlike other
caterers, we do not inflate our prices intentionally
only to offer discounts to customers. If its any
consolation, we do not charge GST, that's an immediate
savings of 7%. We also pride ourselves in our
service, presentation and our food.

ABOUT
eatz
Are you related to any of
the other eatz-sounding F&B outlets?
No. Each of these establishments are separate
entities and we have no relations between us.
How long has eatz been around
for?
We’re still in our infancy - single digit - operating
since 2003 not unlike many caterers. However,
we can safely tell you that many satisfied customers
have either returned or recommended us at their
workplace and amongst their family & friends.
In fact, this makes up 70% of our business with
the rest coming from searches from the web.
Joke: We
hope these long loh-soh but informative
nibblets help – it certainly helps us help you
understand better.
